Along the quiet bend of a Stuart waterfront, the Belvedere Bungalow — built in 1914 as a wedding gift from a founding father to his daughter — became the perfect stage for a vintage-inspired event design. Blending rich history with story-driven creativity, this intimate anniversary dinner celebrated enduring love in the most personal and design-forward way.
Beneath its century-old beams, a small gathering of loved ones came together. The scent of fresh summer blooms drifted on salt-kissed breezes, wrapping everyone in nostalgia and warmth. More than an anniversary dinner, it was a heartfelt tribute to Thea and Bruce’s journey, set within walls originally built for another love story.
Thea had just three requests: vintage charm, orange tones, and the shimmer of mixed metals. Inspired by her affection for Regency-era fashion, we set out to create something layered and deeply personal — a design as meaningful as her own story.
Mixed metals brought depth and quiet complexity. Orange and coral tones added vibrancy and warmth. The magic came in how these elements worked together, feeling at once historic and completely fresh.
Rather than starting with trends, we began with meaning. Mixed metals reflected history and the interplay of contrasts that define a partnership. Bold orange hues became the heart of the palette.
Vintage touches offered a guiding lens. Every choice — from florals to tableware — was intentional. By balancing ornate details with softer moments, we created a design that honored the venue’s past while feeling unmistakably theirs.
The table told its own quiet story through layers of texture and subtle contrast.
Creamy paisley linens set an elegant foundation. Sunburst gold chargers brought a vintage glow, while porcelain dinner plates detailed in gold and gunmetal scrollwork added a touch of neoclassical grace.
Clear glass salad plates edged in gold beading kept the look light and airy. Rose gold flatware introduced a modern twist. Soft ivory velvet napkins draped beneath each plate added gentle texture.
Slender glassware and petite votives caught the last rays of the Florida sun, casting a warm, intimate glow. Together, each piece felt chosen — historic yet current, editorial yet deeply personal.
At the heart of the table, lush low arrangements reflected Thea’s love for warm, lively hues.
Orange and coral roses mingled with graceful calla lilies and bright yellow carnations, all softened by Queen Anne’s lace. Under the Florida sunset, the colors seemed to glow against the stone walls and garden backdrop.
These florals didn’t just decorate the table — they added joy and a sense of nostalgia, a living reminder of love still blooming.
The detail that truly stole the show was the cake — a stunning masterpiece styled to look like a melting vintage candle.
Unexpected and charming, it honored the vintage theme perfectly while adding a playful twist that captivated guests.
Thea and Bruce trusted us with just three guiding ideas. From there, we dove deep — researching, building mood boards, and thoughtfully sourcing each piece. Every floral choice and tabletop detail added nuance and meaning to the design.
It’s this process — connecting history, setting, and personal story — that brings our designs to life.
Mixing metals and rich colors can feel risky. But done intentionally, it creates depth rather than clutter. For every ornate vintage detail, we balanced a cleaner, modern element. For every vibrant bloom, we added soft neutrals and subtle textures.
When approached thoughtfully, mixing old and new feels layered and lived-in — just like a great story.
